Our story
Floating Feather Counseling was born out of a deep belief: healing doesn’t have to feel clinical or cold. Therapy should be a place where you can show up exactly as you are—messy, unsure, hopeful, stuck—and feel truly seen.
Founded by Dr. Larena Davis, LPC, LCADC, CCS, a therapist with years of experience and a laid-back, compassionate style, Floating Feather was created for the people who carry a lot. The ones who are holding things together on the outside but feel lost, tired, or disconnected underneath. The ones navigating major life transitions, stuck in cycles they want to break, or trying to find a version of themselves that feels more real and whole.
The name Floating Feather represents what so many of us are searching for: lightness, peace, and the ability to move forward—even when life feels heavy. We know that change doesn’t happen overnight, and it definitely doesn’t happen by pretending everything’s fine. But with the right support, it is possible to stop just surviving and start living with more intention, ease, and self-trust.
Here, therapy is a collaboration. We bring tools like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and recovery-focused strategies—and you bring your story, your questions, and your willingness to show up. Together, we figure it out.

Larena Davis was drawn to the field of counseling by a deep desire to help others, inspire change, and break the stigma surrounding mental health. With a genuine passion for making people feel seen, heard, and valued, Larena brings warmth, empathy, and a touch of humor to her therapeutic practice. She believes in the power of connection and strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and goals.
Known for her flexible and client-centered approach, Larena tailors her methods to meet the unique needs of each individual. Whether through traditional therapy techniques, creative interventions, or a well-timed joke to lighten the moment, she is dedicated to helping her clients find what works best for them. Larena takes pride in being her clients' biggest cheerleader, celebrating their progress and supporting them as they work toward building a life filled with purpose, passion, and fulfillment.
In addition to her professional expertise, Larena is accompanied by her sweet Golden Retriever, Charlie, who has become an integral part of her practice. Charlie brings joy and comfort to clients, offering a calming presence and plenty of smiles along the way.
